Prayer Walking

North County Project

Alan Amavisca who served as a missionary in Honduras, Guatemala, Lantin America and Asia  is taking His work to the streets of North Orange County.  There is roughly a million unchurched people who have no familiarity to the God of the bible and the christian church.

One way Alan saw fit to address this problem is through prayer.  He is asking christians to pray consistently for your neighborhoods to see the the kind of growth happening abroad take place here in the OC.

Prayer Walking is a weekly commitment to capture God's heart for your city while praying blessing over your neighbors.

Sign up today for a route and know others are praying along side you for every street and soul in North Orange County.  Together we pray that God creates the change and breathes life into our cities.

Pastors Dinner December 1st

We would like to invite pastors, & ministers of the gospel, for another Pastors Dinner.(Spouses Welcome) El Torito 6:30pm Dec 1st

We heard from a majority of pastors that Thursday would be a better night to meet and pray.  We will plan on hosting a dinner quarterly, but couldn't wait to give more of the pastors a chance to join us be fore the year end.

Same time and place El Torito 6:30pm Thursday December 1st.

We gather and pray every Wed for our city, as we seek God's heart for His church in Placentia. It has been a blessing to see fruit grow naturally out of the relationships God has been cultivating.

Why we pray every Wed

Our schedules require so much of our attention and energy.  So why do we hold prayer every Wed morning?

It is not just another responsibility for us to attend, no it is an opportunity to come and recharge.  It is an opportunity to fellowship with others here in Placentia who has walked in your shoes.

We have purposely stayed away from making it about creating collaboration, so that our work does not interfere with the natural growth in Christ and each other.  We believe that if we simply follow the Lords call to seek Him first then we will find ourselves producing fruit like it is described in John 15.
After Jesus outlines the importance of remaining in Him he gives us His command “Love each other as I have loved you.

We understand that pastor lives can get busy, but please join us when you can. We pray every Wed morning because it is a joy and strength to seek the Lord with other ministers and know that body of Christ is alive and well in Placentia.
 --------------
Collaboration is important in any community and we have been blessed to see collaboration grow naturally out of relationships.  We have enjoyed worshiping together and serving the homeless alongside each other.  But there are needs in our community that need focused attention.

The two groups that were working to bring solutions to the struggles we face in our community joined to form the Placentia Collaborative.  This group is relatively new and is attempting to facilitate collaboration among the non-profits in our community.

I love sharing with our prayer group about the needs addressed during these meetings, though I would encourage each ministry to send a representative to be quickly informed and able to join in.  The collaborative is hosted by Placentia Presbyterian Church and meets for lunch on the second Wed of the month.  Please contact Veronica Rodarte with the city of Placentia to find out more information. vrodarte@placentia.org

Pastors Dinner El Torito Fri 28th

We would like to invite pastors, and or ministers of the gospel, working here in the City of Placentia, to join us as we pray for the City.

October the 28th at El Torito, 6:30pm.

We have been gathering pastors promoting the cause of Christ here in Placentia for almost a year now. If you are a minister of the Gospel we invite you to join us for a pastor’s prayer dinner.  We understand the difficulty to meet during the work week.

Similar to our normal Wed morning time of prayer, this is an opportunity to meet and fellowship with others serving, while seeking God’s heart for our city.

In consideration to pastor’s family time we will attempt to keep the prayer dinner to an hour and half.
Be encouraged and come out Friday the 28,th  6:30 pm at El Toritio on the corner of Kraemer & Yorba-Linda Blvd.  Our agenda will be prayer, fellowship and nachos.

---------------------

Pastors & Ministers join us!

We would like to invite pastors, and or ministers of the gospel, working here in the City of Placentia, to join us as we pray for the City Wed mornings.

My name is Joshua Correa and I felt the need, along with other pastors to seek God's will for our town.  I met Alan Amavisca with Yorba Linda Friends church and shortly after we gathered a few of us to do just that.

Our heart is simply to build relationships among the pastors and to pray.  Jesus prayed that we would be one and if we can meet each other and connect with God's heart for Placentia, then just maybe instead of feeling the pressure, we might be encouraged.  We might find that "His yolk is easy and His burden light."

Through this blog, emails and other resources we hope to expand the discussion of what Christ purposes' for our local church as we seek His will in one accord.  Topics will be posted here occasionally to create an ongoing dialog about the importance of pastoral relationships and the barriers that have divided us in practice, or belief.

I believe in the beautiful bride of Christ and it is my desire to see her built up as we work alongside each other.
